A total of 23 new immigration officers graduated from the Bureau of Immigration’s (BI) Philippine Immigration Academy (PIA) on April 29.

The graduates, composed of 14 males and 9 females, underwent a 27-day fast-track program to equip essential skills and knowledge in border control techniques, immigration procedures, and security protocols.

The new officers are slated to be deployed to major international airports and frontline offices by May 1.

BI Commissioner Tansingco emphasized that these new officers embody the fresh perspective of Bagong Immigration, echoing the national government's Bagong Pilipinas campaign.

As part of efforts to further improve its services, the BI is continuously hiring new immigration officers to maximize their manpower.

Throughout their training, officers not only received instruction in the latest immigration techniques but also underwent development in essential interpersonal skills to enhance their effectiveness in their roles.
