Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

This is precisely what sexy actress Vida Verde (“Nene,” “Katawang Putik,” “Desperada,” “Raid Casa,” “Takot Ako, Eh” etc.) was feeling when her daughter Katrina Mejia Coronel, also known as Ina Coronel, was out in the air as flight stewardess of Etihad Airways.

"Miss na miss ko na ang anak ko (I miss my daughter so much)," sighed Vida, Catherine Mejia in real life, when she talked about Ina, most of the time when I pay her a visit in Tumauini town in Isabela.

Ina, Vida's daughter with Retired General Joel Coronel, has been a flight attendant for five years.

"Hilig talaga ni Ina ang pagfa-flight stewardess kaya hinayaan ko na siya dahil masaya siya sa gano'n. Ang gusto pa nga niya, maging pilot (Ina is indeed inclined to being a flight stewardess so I let her pursue it because she's happy with it. What she really wanted was to be a pilot)," the actress explained.

What a warm welcome Verde's friends accorded Ina when she went home for a lay-over in Manila recently.

Cathy, Vida’s nickname, came down all the way from Tumauini, where she stays and Ina flew to Manila from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

At the time Vida is readying for her film comeback, the mother and daughter had a pictorial at the studio of lens man Lito Caleon who incidentally was the same photographer who took photos of Ina when she joined the "Philippine Beauty Queen Academy" on GMA Network in 2014.

"Nakumbinsi ko rin si Ina sa isang cameo role sa pelikulang ididirek ng visual artist na si (I was able to convince her to do a cameo role in a film to be directed by) Bon Labora," exclaimed Cathy.

The reunion of the mom and daughter was a wonderful time for Bon and Agos Media together with BVV8 Media Productions to fete them with a simple dine-out and bouquets of flowers to usher a storycon about the film project.

According to Bon, the film tentatively titled “Pasasalamat” is about the relationship between man and nature.

Vida plays a herbalist healer while Ina is the rebirth of the old spiritualist.
