TELERADYO SERBISYO BALITA: “4 SENADOR LUMAGDA LABAN SA CONTEMPT ORDER VS QUIBOLOY.” This was in response to the news that: “SEN. HONTIVEROS IPINA-CONTEMPT SI PASTOR QUIBOLOY…dahil “PASTOR QUIBOLOY HINDI SUMIPOT SA PAGDINIG NG SENADO.”

We wonder why the four senators, namely, Senators Robin Padilla, Cynthia Villar, Bong Go and Imee
Marcos, have publicly expressed their objection to having Pastor Quiboloy (who claims to be “the
Appointed Son of God” and is known to be the Spiritual Adviser of former President Rodrigo Roa
Duterte) to explain his side on certain accusations made by former members of his church about his
alleged sexual misdemeanors.

Are they afraid of the truth, nay, some truths to come out of the hearing? A Senate hearing is reputed to
be an opportunity for the people of the Philippines to know important national issues that matter to
public order and good governance, and how certain legislations may be crafted by the honorable men of
the Senate to address and solve problems of the country.

One of the senators publicly admitted that Pastor Quiboloy is a “good friend.” We don’t know how the
others reasoned out their objections. But one thing is clear to the Filipino people, who pay for the
salaries of these public officials: aren’t they entitled to know not only how laws are made by their
representatives in Congress and especially the reasons or bases for legislations being proposed and
eventually approved for implementation and guidance by all concerned? Isn’t transparency in the
official actions of our public officials the best way for the Filipino people to know that their
representatives in the government bureaucracy are honest and sincere in carrying out their mandate of
genuine service to the people and serious concern for peace and progress for the country?

Are they afraid of the truth, when “the TRUTH WILL SET US FREE”?
